Vermont Share the Music
Announces Dates for the
12th Annual Used Musical Instrument Sale
in Montpelier
Montpelier,
VT – Central Vermont Share the Music, Inc. (CVSM) has
announced that the 12th Annual Used Musical Instrument Sale
will be held August 22 and 23, 2008 at Bethany Church, 115
Main Street in Montpelier. Sale hours are 9 am to 2 pm, Saturday,
August 23, 2008. Sellers are invited to bring instruments
to the sale site between 4 and 7 pm on Friday, August 22,
2008. Sellers will receive 80% of an instrument’s selling
price, with CVSM retaining a 20% commission. All proceeds
from the sale will be used to provide music scholarship assistance
to individuals. Cash, local checks with ID, MasterCard, Visa,
Discover and American Express will be accepted. CVSM is a
non-profit organization and donations are welcome.
“The
Annual Used Musical Instrument Sales have been a great success
for us.” said CVSM President Kevin Crossett. “In
the first two years of CVSM. Inc. producing the sale we were
able to recover our operating costs and still offer several
scholarships to music students.”
“We
learned some valuable lessons in our first few years”,
noted Vice President Jeff Vovakes. “For example, we learned
that the community is enthusiastic about CVSM and its mission.
In just two years, we've built a great volunteer network and
a dedicated board of directors. And Bethany Church is a terrific
location for the sale. We will continue to make improvements
each year based on our experience and in response to the needs
of the community.”
